Stonesoup - Creative Writing by Children

We’re blogging again!

Welcome to the brand new Stone Soup blog. This is the place where we’ll tell you what’s new at Stone Soup. It’s also the place where you can post your comments — on the featured story from the current issue, on a poem you just wrote, a picture you just drew, an idea you just had, what you’re doing for you summer vacation, or whatever you like. As we write this, we’re still featuring “The Three Wishes,” from the May/June 2012 issue of Stone Soup. We’ll post a new featured story at the beginning of July. Meanwhile, tell us what you think of “The Three Wishes.” Over the years we have published many stories about how hard it can be to move and start over in a new place. Author Alison Lanza, age 12, adds a touch of magic to the theme. Her story is a beautifully drawn portrait of a family of three sisters, each with her own quirky personality. Be sure to check out the story’s illustrations, by 13-year-old Leigh McNeil-Taboika. We liked Leigh’s colorful illustrations so much that we put one of them on the cover of the May/June issue.
