Paintings from Russia and Lithuania
Some of the most beautiful children’s art we have ever seen comes from the former Soviet Union. During the Soviet era, most cities and towns had a place called the House of Culture, where young people could spend hours every week painting and drawing.

*For many years the Children’s Art Exchange of Middlebury, Vermont organized exchanges of children’s art between the United States and the former Soviet Union. When the Children’s Art Exchange ceased operation, their art work was given to Laura Chodos of Saratoga Springs, New York. Laura runs the Albany-Tula Alliance. See 12 beautiful paintings from Tula on our Web site.
