Ocean Memories

Eden A. Marish Roehr

As the notes take meI try to rememberThe oceanMom and Dad stand by meDeeper we goJumping big wavesMy parents lifting me up to jumpDolphin fins out in the horizonLaughing thenLonging nowFor the sea to sweep meOff the ocean floorAs it did a few years agoIf only I could go backInto childhood memoriesSee what I did not savor enoughBe there once moreAnd I go thereAs I fall sound asleepAnd my dreams carry me back out to sea
