I walked down stairs to see my dad pacing in the kitchen while on a phone call with the vet. His eyebrows were furrowed as he talked about rabies. Finally, when he got off the phone, he said that nothing serious had happened, we just needed to bring our dog to the vet to get her shots. I felt a wave or relief run though my body as the thought of our dog being sick left my mind.
At a very young age, my life changed. When I was 3, I moved to Florence, Italy because my parents wanted me to be bilingual, and that wasn’t the only benefit I gained from living in Italy. For 6 years I thrived there. I made friends, I loved my school and my house, I learned a new language, and most of all, I loved the environment. But when I turned nine, the only life I knew disappeared.
Everyone has a different experience with their family. Sometimes it’s a positive experience that leaves you with good memories, sometimes it's a bad experience that leaves you with irreversible scars, or maybe it's a mix of both. Assia shared with me the experience she had with her family, and how it was like growing up in her family dynamic.
I woke up earlier that morning, preparing myself to go to school. Into the school compound, I started marching to my classroom and while standing at the classroom's door, I discovered that there was new arrangement of desks in the class. It was now two desks facing each other with one side almost forming a circle of most of my classmates.
Each group member was busy in their own way.
It was a cloudy afternoon at around 2:30pm at school when I decided to call up one of my classmates for a short interview.
We sat opposite to each other and she was so excited to know which kind of conversation I was going to engage with her. She just kept on looking at me while posing with her hand on her cheeks with a funny smile, lifting her eyebrows up and down.
For this piece of writing, students practiced their observational skills. Students were instructed to to do the following:
Choose a place in your home, neighborhood or surrounding area where you can station yourself for a half hour in order to conduct a deep observation. This should be somewhere that is familiar to you and where you spent time regularly in your everyday life.
I just took my small moment to observe how beautiful our world is and to be grateful to the creator who did all this.
I took my backpack, my yoga mat, my silver bottle filled with water, a rope and my can.
I dressed in black boots, a training trouser and t-shirt with the hoody on top.
I was ready to go and start my beautiful adventure.

Groundhog Day is a tradition observed in the United States on February 2nd of every year. It comes from a popular tradition dating back to 1887 that if a groundhog leaves its underground winter home on this day and sees its shadow, it will go back to its den and cold weather will last for six more weeks. By contrast, if it does not see its shadow, spring will arrive early.
When I was in my country which is DRC. One day my parents, my brothers and sisters and me went for a holiday. We went in a village called Rethy. The village was calm and nice looking. There was not too much noise but only the beautiful sound from nature. There were many trees, rivers and beautiful crop gardens.
I really loved that place; everyone there was calm, happy and friendly.
