Daily Creativity #14: Poetry Charades

This is an activity to complete with one other person who you can see. So, that means a sibling, a parent, or other person in your home; or a friend or other family member over Zoom, FaceTime, WhatsApp, etc:

  1. Both of you should take a few minutes to select a poem from this list but do NOT share it with your partner.
  2. Silently (no speaking or writing down words!) act out your poem for your partner, one line at a time. You may supplement your acting with drawings, if you wish.
  3. Your partner will write down a line of poetry for each line you enact.
  4. Trade places.
  5. Take a few minutes to polish and revise your poems, then have your partner share the original poem as you share what you wrote.
