Write about what it would be like to attend your rival school or play on your rival sports team. What would your thoughts be on the school you attend now? How is your view on your current school/sports team altered when looking through the eyes of another?
Write a story in a single word.
Select a sentence from your favorite novel. Tear out a page of your notebook or use an empty whiteboard to break down this sentence and find a deeper meaning, or possibly theorize what the author is trying to tell you (otherwise known as the theme). Then, write a story where you use this same theme.
Write a story about about a unifying place. Maybe this is a coffee shop where a regular group of writers share their work, or a church where folks go to practice their religion. Simply explore how these people are unified, and why.
Write a story that takes place on a beach, or in the ocean.
Write about a vacation you’d like to take. Describe the sights you see, scents you smell, things you touch, noises you hear, etc.
Draw or paint a scene that takes place high in the mountains.
Write a dialogue between three friends going on a picnic.
Write a poem about your favorite place to be.
